Director Ti West (“The House of the Devil”) is back with his new thriller “The Sacrament” starring Amy Seimetz (“Upstream Color”) who is also known for her directorial work with “Sun Don’t Shine.” The psychological horror film centers on Vice journalists Joe Swanberg (director of “Drinking Buddies”) and A.J. Bowen (“You’re Next”) who do begin a video feature piece on a seemingly welcoming commune, Eden Parish, that soon proves sinister. Gene Jones (“No Country for Old Men”) stars as its valiant and questionable leader. Eli Roth produces this smart, chilling and innovative film. West and Seimetz discuss the social issues at play in the story and their work with the Canon c300, giving the film a unique documentary, rather than found footage, form.
