The new animated film The Addams Family, written by Matt Lieberman, is directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, their latest collaboration following their R-rated animated film, Sausage Party (2016).
I sat down with directors Greg and Conrad to talk about how they took this nearly 100-year-old franchise and worked with a team of writers and storyboard artists to make the beloved Addams family feel fresh and funny for an audience in 2019.
Voice actors include Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Oscar Issac as Gomez, Charlize Theron as Morticia and Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday.
The Addams Family opened Oct. 11.
