Here, we get more of the inside story on Abel and Anna. The ways of living one's life in New York City in 1981 are not as easy as they seem. It's not black and white. The rules and moral code have a greyness associated with them.
The best description (in "logline-esque" fashion) comes from Oscar Isaac saying, "It's a lot like the wild west in New York City in 1981."
