Scott Frank (Get Shorty, Out of Sight), on behalf of BAFTA, discusses his favorite films that made him want to write screenplays. He also goes into detail on writing well crafted opening scenes and how that initial reel in is vital to any story.
Frank has quite the screenwriting resume with Minority Report, The Wolverine, Malice and the above titles under his belt. He also has a new adapted script coming out titled The Mountain Between Us. The original novel is written by Charles Martin.
Between original screenplays and adapted works (his specialty), Scott Frank has smarts regarding what it means to harness words and action for genuine cinematic pleasure.
