Dear Reader(s),
Being that it is fifth week, and I need all of these courses in order to graduate, I am unable to humor you with a tangent on how terrible interning is because I am knee-deep in midterms and paper proposals that are due, like NOW! So, I hope you find it in your hearts to forgive me for cutting down on my hours of “community service” this week. And because I have a lot of nerve, I would also like to ask a favor when I ask your forgiveness: I’d like to ask you to take a moment out of your time to put yourself in the shoes of the millions (okay, maybe not that many) of interns, who like me, are also struggling to balance school, work, and insane demands by tyrants and ask yourself, “how the hell do they do it?” Because this shit is no joke–especially during midterms and finals; don’t even get me started on research projects and presentations...
You know, I often hear the phrase, “Youth is wasted on the young,” Horseshit! Youth is wasted in hopes of securing a job after graduation. And the booze necessary to keep one’s sanity when taking orders from several different individuals. Well, at least my youth.
So don’t freak out, I’ll be back soon with more pearls of intern wisdom in a couple of days.
Love,
Chloe
