By Admin · December 18, 2019

Droid Hunter by Robert Bielak has been selected as the winner of The Script Lab’s 2019 Free Screenplay Contest. In the feature, a jaded veteran of the Final War hates androids and has made it her life’s mission to track down the renegade droids who slaughtered her family and abducted her baby sister. But as her quest takes her deeper into the wastelands she begins to suspect that the ex-soldier she’s partnered up with may be a replicant himself.

Piney Ridge by La’Chris Jordan has been selected as the runner up. In the one hour pilot, following a heart-wrenching tragedy, a Black female sharecropper in 1930s Virginia sets out on a mission of personal revenge, all while fighting the exploitation of the town’s wealthy landowners and the violent harassment of the local sheriff and his posse of unlawful men.

Whispers From the Watchtower by Jai Brandon has been named third place. In the thriller feature, the host of a popular skeptic/debunking radio show works alongside a reluctant psychic in a last ditch attempt to find his missing daughter.
