WATCH: Leonard Abrahamson talks ‘Frank’ and Michael Fassbender

By Meredith Alloway · January 25, 2014

Michael Fassbender stars as Frank, a front man of a experimental pop band who wears a fake head. Director Abrahamson and writers Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan bring a truly captivating film to Sundance 2014. When the Sonorfbs manager Don (Scoot McNairy) asks Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) to join the band, his dreams come true. But other members of the band, including a sharp-tongued Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal), are skeptical of his intentions. The story unfolds into much more than just a comedy about a fake head, but an exploration of identity and denial. Abrahamson gives some insight on casting Fassbender and covering his face, the comedy in the script and the Sundance premiere-let's just say everyone wore Frank masks in the audience.
