Chosen as the opening night film of Tribeca, "Time is Illmatic" is a documentary that explores the life of Nas and the making of his legendary album. I had a chance to sit down with producer Erik Parker, known for his work in music journalism, and director One9, who is debuting this first feature. We discussed finding the backbone is the footage, working with Nas and just how revolutionary his work still remains.
