Jason Reitman is a writer/director I think almost everyone can support, or at least one film in his canon. He thoroughly enjoys tapping into social "norms" and demystifying them with harsh wake-up calls for his characters. Here, we see the combination of social media, loneliness and the curiosity and urges that can spawn from them. This topic (especially since it is beyond a trend right now) meshed with Reitman's direction could definitely produce an Oscar horse for the upcoming race.
