2017 ScreenCraft Horror Screenplay Contest Winners Announced

Killing Time by Jose Prendes has been selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the 2017 ScreenCraft Horror Screenplay Contest. The script centers on a teen who teams with his friend to use time travel technology to stop the brutal murder of his sister and uncover the identity of her slasher.

The runner-up this year is The Au Pair by Peyton McDavitt. Logline: After a young woman travels across the country for an au pair job with three little girls, she slowly learns of the dark secrets surrounding the family.

Prendes will receive the grand prize of $1,000 along with hand-picked industry consultations. McDavitt will receive $500 and a phone call with a literary manager

2017 ScreenCraft Short Screenplay Contest Winners Announced

The Devil’s Justice by Bryan Michael Block has been selected as the winner of the 2017 ScreenCraft Short Screenplay Contest. It’s an intriguing, classical and character-driven drama about a depleted and cursed bounty hunter who enters a dead bar at closing time and confesses his crimes to the local sheriff and bartender.

Flyology by Michael Leung has also been selected as the runner-up. The short centers on a young inner city girl with respiratory issues who aims to learn how to fly and begins corresponding with a female inventor who sought to do the same in the Victorian era.

Both Block and Leung will receive cash prizes and circulation of their projects to the ScreenCraft Network.
