Welcome back to The Script Lab’s weekly screenwriting contest roundup – our gathering of all the latest in contest news, updates, and announcements for emerging screenwriters looking to make a splash. Screenwriting competitions are tried and true when it comes to planting a foot firmly in the appropriate door, so remember to check back often (every Monday) for the most up-to-date info on all the weekly winners and deadlines!
ScreenCraft has unveiled the quarter-finalists in this year’s Pilot Launch Screenplay Contest, comprising half-hour and hour long teleplays as well as web-series. The quarter-finalists represent the top 25 percent of over 2000 submissions.

ScreenCraft has announced the quarter-finalists in their first annual Drama Screenplay Contest. Drawn from over 900 submissions comprising a genre known for compelling, nuanced storytelling, the quarter-finalists represent the top 25 percent of submissions received.

The Austin Film Festival has announced the winners in their 2017 Script Competition. Each winners will receive cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, reimbursements for travel and lodging while at AFF, and access to and recognition by some of the most important writers, agents, producers and filmmakers in the industry. In addition, this year’s winner of the Drama category will receive a 2 – 3 week residency in Marfa, Texas through the Capri Fellowship which hopes to provide a place where writers can find their voice and tell the stories they want to tell.
