From ‘Gilmore Girls’ to ‘The Nanny Diaries’ Amy Sherman Palladino has teamed with Harvey Weinstein and Ryan Seacrest to adapt the new series for ABC deadline.com reports. This is Seacrest’s first work in scripted television and Weinstein’s first “major move” since the opening of a TV division in January. The Nanny Diaries is based on the 2002 bestselling book by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, two former Manhattan nannies who dealt with upper class Manhattan society through the lens of “the help”. Made into a feature film in 2007 starring Scarlet Johansson, Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti, it was one of the first scripted projects put into development once the TV division was established.
