Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper), a noir-"ish" influenced writer/director, sits down with Making Of and gives insights into his process, how he got started and his screenwriting techniques.
Johnson is one of the most talented screenwriters working right now. His stories always include profundity, correctly scaled emotion and good pacing. Through his feature work and his work on Breaking Bad, Johnson will now be helming Star Wars VIII & IX – an honor beyond words.
Mr. Johnson also goes in-depth about the screenwriting network process. Let's correct that statement, "his" screenwriting network process. He took the "shotgun approach" where word-of-mouth genuinely helps get a script to someone who might like it (and know someone).
