The 75th Emmy Award nominations were announced on Wednesday, July 12th, and basically, if you’re an HBO MAX show… I guess it’s just called MAX now, you’re doing all right. The cable network tops the 2023 Emmys nominations, including the writing nominees, and dominates the Outstanding Writing for Drama series category with noms for Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus. The final season of AMC’s Better Call Saul tops the basic cable series with seven nominations, including two for writing.
In comedy writing, returning favorite Ted Lasso, which won the category back in 2021, is back for its swan song, whereas last year’s winner, Abbott Elementary, is not. (It is nominated for Best Comedy Series, though.) Ted Lasso also faces stiff competition from tried-and-true shows like Barry and Only Murders in the Building, and new favorites like Jury Duty and The Bear.
If you’re looking for a way to pass the time between now and the award show, what better way to do so than to read scripts from all of these fantastic Emmy-nominated shows? We’ve put them all together for you. Enjoy! And download! For free!
