PS: Could someone please pick up Happy Town and Flash Forward?

It has become apparent to me that the creators of True Beauty like their contestants suicidal. If you have self-respect and don't know what True Beauty is, I'll fill you in. It is a contest where a gaggle of sexy men and women compete to be "the face of Vegas"- OR SO THEY THINK! They are also being secretly judged by their moral character. Just to be sure they are caught in acts of good and evil, actors are sent in to create chances for them to demonstrate their true beauty.

When the weekly loser is chosen and Vanessa Minnillo reveals her presence, the dramatic music and lighting indicates that the losing contestant is supposed to be shocked to see her, although by the looks on some of their faces I'm not sure they all know who she is. The loser is then faced with Vanessa's monologue of shame where she reveals that there is more to the show than meets the eye.

"…we've also been watching for signs of your inner beauty because the winner of this competition is going to be the total package; a perfect combination of inner and outer beauty. Do you think that you're the complete package? {the contestant always says yes} See for yourself."

After this, they watch a video montage of every wrong or flippant thing they did throughout the competition. Many of the contestants also showed kindness at times, but those moments are left out. The contestant just has to stand there and find out that Vanessa Minnillo, a stranger to them, thinks they're a BAD PERSON. And then-

"…beauty is something that comes from both inside and out, but true beauty comes from within."

So now, they are a bad person who is also UGLY. AWESOME.

And I've been supporting it by watching. I've decided to put my energy to better use. If we all meditate daily, I believe our collective subconscious can create a new season of Arrested Development.
