WATCH: Filmmaker Carter Smith talks Sundance and “Jamie Marks is Dead”

By Meredith Alloway · January 26, 2014

An acclaimed fashion photographer, Carter Smith is quickly becoming a film director to watch. He's no stranger to Sundance, winning the Short Filmmaking award in 2006. This year he's back with a feature that's a coming of age story with a supernatural main subject. After Jamie Marks (Noah Silver) passes away, he returns as a ghost and is befriended by school jock Adam (Cameron Monaghan). The film unfolds into an exploration of bullying, guilt and loyalty. Homeland's Morgan Saylor also stars alongside Judy Greer and Liv Tyler. Smith talks working with the young cast, his adoration for Judy Greer and what's at the crux of the horror love story.
