One hour TV show sales sluggish

By Andrea Pilar Nevil · August 12, 2011

According to deadline.com, Sony TV has already sold 17-18 half-hour comedy scripts. Included in these is the Bewitched remake at CBS, Let it Go, a DJ Nash project, BAMFS, a new high school comedy written by Leah Rachel and a comedy about a terrible mayor written by Max Winkler and Jake Johnson. Apparently hour-long pitches have been “sluggish” this summer and comedy projects have been spitting out faster and with much more success. It is rumored that one major network, has already heard more than 40 comedy pitches. This new energizing in the comedy market may have something to do with the new head of comedy at NBC, Tal Rabinowitz and the CW’s opening for comedy pitches this year.
