The Script Lab Podcast: Swallow Writer/Director Carlo Mirabella-Davis

In this episode, I chat with writer/director Carlo Mirabella-Davis about his striking new body horror film Swallow, starring the incredibly talented Haley Bennett as Hunter, a young wife who swallows dangerous objects in secret. The film is dark, but it’s also gorgeously shot and at times even funny. Carlo tells me about his very personal and ultimately tragic inspiration for the film and shares the many reasons someone might have such a dark obsession.

We also talk about why writers should look to their own family secrets when writing screenplays.

Swallow is currently playing in limited release, but will soon expand to more theaters and be available on VOD.
