David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel) has been in the screenwriting industry since he graduated college. He's seen and experienced a lot. His insights are extensive because he gives great context on what it means to be a hustling writer. Hustling writers tend to make many mistakes in their early days and he did just that.
This lecture has endless takeaways, but what we find most valuable is his message of persistence. He never stopped. He had confidence in his writing and kept moving forward; even if it was in his underwear in a college dorm room.
Write on.
