Room 099 by Sarah Mokh has been selected as the winner of The Script Lab’s 2021 Free Screenplay Contest. The television pilot tells the story of a group of Muslim students struggling to carve out space for themselves in a secret prayer room on campus and in America hidden from their peers and Ivy League administration.
Sea Change, a feature by Steven Miller, has been selected as the runner up. It’s the story of a stubborn small town newspaper owner and his digitally savvy online reporter son who are forced to work together in order to save their careers and relationship.
Lucy Lucid: Heiress of Dreams by Joshua Pitta has been selected in third place. It’s a television pilot about Lucy Lucid, the teenage daughter of the Sandman, must venture out into the Land of Dreams to rescue her father after he is kidnapped by his jealous brother, the Head of Nightmares.
